Diablo Lake + Washington Pass • 2 hrs from Seattle
One of Washington’s most underrated day trips — turquoise water, dramatic mountain passes and some of the best views in the North Cascades without needing a big hike.
This route is perfect if you want the North Cascades experience in one day but don’t want to spend half of it hiking. You’ll drive the incredibly scenic Highway 20, stop at Diablo Lake and continue into the mountains to Washington Pass.
